Condensation inside my egg?!

So after cooking Fajitas on Fathers Day I closed my egg up per the norm with bottom damper shut and green cap on top. Well I was in the back yard last night just admiring the egg and I opened it up for giggles and noticed some rusty looking water dots on the bottom of the fire grate. There was also condensation on the sides of the dome. I don't know why this has happened because the only openeing water could have entered in would be a small sliver where the silicon doesn't completely seal off the metal slider at the bottom. This also explains why my DFMT was starting to look rusty even though it has never gotten wet. Any suggestions on doing anything differently to keep this from happening? Thanks.

Not really... I think that condensation is inevitable. Worse in some areas (based on climate) than others.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------Well, "spa-Peggy" is kind of like spaghetti. I'm not sure what Peggy does different, if anything. But it's the one dish she's kind of made her own.____________________Aurora, Ontario, Canada

I live in MS so humidity is a part of our lives. I always open the bottom vent an inch or two the next morning after a cook. Lets the egg breathe a little and keeps it dry.

It also keeps the leftover lump dry so it lights easier.

Cool thanks. Actually we had a miniature hurricane here in west Texas that might have blown some moisture thru the aforementioned crack. Thanks for the help.
