Options to eggcessorize the Mini?

Options
I am looking at the toys/options out there for the new Mini.  I am looking for some sort of indirect set up.  I like CGS's Mini Woo and the 8.5" stones on amazon.

What other options are out there:  Just the stone on the stock grate? or a CI Lodge skillet w/o a handle?  I  see Amazon has the 8" and a 9" Lodge skillets but I'd have to cut the handle off.  Which CI pan are you Mini owners using?

Thanks for the input.

There is a platesetter made for the Mini as well.

From my understanding it is more for the new style though, right? A modification needs done to work on the old style.

That's what I thought, but didn't see that size listed on the BGE site.  Hmmm....

You would need to purchase a new fire ring with the notches for the mini plate setter. I think the pair are around sixty bucks

    Congrats on the Mini!

Here's a post with pics of the new fire ring & Mini PS: http://eggheadforum.com/discussion/1149607/for-you-eggers-with-a-mini.

Personally, I prefer the Mini Woo and pizza stones combo as you can go indirect or raised direct.

Here's the customary list of accessories for the Mini:

    Mini Woo (http://shop.ceramicgrillstore.com/mini-10-woo-ring/)
Old Stone Oven Pizza Stones (http://www.amazon.com/Old-Stone-Oven-4444-Stones/dp/B0000E1FDC)
    Lodge CI griddle #L70GH3 (http://www.missionrs.com/L70GH3.html or http://www.wasserstrom.com/restaurant-supplies-equipment/Product_309165)
    10" Carbon Steel Wok (http://www.wokshop.com/store/detail.php?show=64)

I don't have one but the Egg Carten is pretty popular (http://eggcarten.blogspot.com/p/features-of-mini-egg-carten.html)

I use one of these MSR Alpine Plates as a drip pan (http://www.amazon.com/MSR-321104-Alpine-Plate/dp/B000FBSZGA)

High-Que grate is another option if your Mini needs a little better airflow. http://www.high-que.com/Stainless-High-Heat-Charcoal-Fire-Grate-Upgrade-for-Small-Mini-Big-Green-Egg-Grill_p_21.html

My Mini has no need for a High-Que but your Mini may vary.

    Enjoy your Mini!

I agree no need for Platesetter with Mini Woo and Amazon 2-set stones. But as to the High Que (IMO) it should come from the factory. Seeing how that's not happening, order one.

@Mickey quick question about the Mini Woo.  I'd like to go this route.  Did you have to get a new grid to fit the Mini Woo?  The CGS site quotes "THE 9.5 INCH DIAMETER MINI GRID WILL NOT FIT THE MINI 10 WOO.  CONTACT YOUR LOCAL DEALER OR BIG GREEN EGG'S CORPORATE RETAIL STORE REGARDING UPGRADES TO THE 10 INCH GRID."

BTW, I am sold on CGS.  I have the WOO for my large and love it.

You may want to see how your mini runs before ordering the High Que. It works great for my small, but my mini doesn't seem to have any trouble getting up to temp. I'm new to the mini, so maybe I'll change my tune later.

It is not that they have trouble getting to temp w/o the High-Que. It is that they get there so much quicker.

This from Tom's site: "The Mini 10 Woo Ring now fits the new 10" cast iron grid.  The Mini Woo still works with the stock stainless grid and/or optional ceramic stones from Amazon."

Just check and see if you have a 9" or 9.5" or 10" grid. If you have the 10" you are fine to go. If not I saw several 10" at Keith's Ace Hardware in Salado.

The griddle is pretty nice. Only complaint is the new insert on mini woo to hold the grate in place sticks up some and make the griddle wobbly on the woo. If you invert the woo it will sit on top nicely. I am cooking turkey burgers on the mini griddle today for lunch.

Is the two tier out for the mini? If so I would think about that item from ceramic grill works.

That's great.  I do have the 9.5" SS grate.

Just add a 10" and ready to go with the Mini Woo
