Hello all!!!
First, I just want to say thank you all for the great information on this forum. This is a great place to learn tricks and better my cooking skills.
I am a new egg owner, as of 4 months ago. This thing has truly changed my life. I actually feel a bit bad, since my $4K gasser has not been used since. But you just cant beat the taste of egging. I have always enjoyed cooking, but this brings a whole new level to it. My family has been extremely supportive of my new found hobby, eating dinner at 10:00PM on more than one occasion. But I am starting to get this down, with much help from this forum.
I figured it is time to start giving back. I have began taking photos of cooks. I will post these up soon. My friends and I are now sharing photos back and forth on a daily basis. We have coined our text messages as the "Daily Meat Porn."
I look forward to continuing to build my egg family. Great to meet you all!!!
Here is my very first cook, Ribs!!!
I used Plowboys rub, as well as a bit of extra granulated garlic. Cooked at 225 for 2.5 hrs indirect. Removed and loaded up with honey and apple cider vinegar. Wrapped and cooked another hour or so. Finished off with some home made BBQ sauce over direct heat. Perfect "Bite" as they say in the comps.

Welcome to the cult and those look great. One thing I noticed about cooking ribs especially Baby Backs is I had always cooked them at 250 dome then one time I thought I would try them a little slower like I do Butts and cooked them at 225. The finished product at the lower temperature was tough. I mentioned it here and a few guys told me 225 was too low for ribs now I am back at 250 minimum. Just my experience FWIW._________________________________________________Don't let the truth get in the way of a good story!Large BGE 2006, Mini Max 2014, 36" Blackstone, Anova Sous Vide

Thanks for the feedback.I will try them next time at a higher temp (250) and see what they do. I have done Baby Backs four times now, and only had one batch turn out tough. (Ribs were purchased from grocery store on sale. Probably not the best quality. I normally get the at Costco or RD)That's one thing I have learned about the egg... Continue to try new things a see what works best. Thanks again for the feedback!!

"This thing has truly changed my life". Lol. So true. That's what SWMBO tells everyone the BGE did to me. She used to rib me (pun intended) about being on this forum every night until I told her there are a lot worse things I could be looking at on the Internet. + 1 on "daily meat porn". Welcome.
