What are the best rolls for homemade hamburgers? Grinding the meat makes a great burger but what about the bread?

+1 on Ciabatta, or a nice crusty style Kaiser.not sure if they have them where you are in NY, but check for Portuguese rolls.or even toasted onion roll.boy do I love hearty crusty bread.Bx - > NJ ->TX!!!All to get cheaper brisket!

+3 on the Ciabatta Rolls, and for the healthy members they also make a "Five Grain Ciabatta Roll" which is very good -- even for unhealthy members like me!

I like a bun that can handle the juices from the burger, the bacon, the cheese, and the pickle... and more juices from the burger.
I usually use an onion kaiser or ciabatta (or something similar).

I have the grinder attachment for the KitchenAid, so at some point I want to make home made buns and then grind my own burgers. I haven't done this yet, but I was thinking of trying a recipe such as:Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Pillsbury Grands biscuits (the ones with layers, not the buttermilk) pulled right out of the oven are hard to beat, melts in your mouth & works great with homeground burgers; a second choice would be a toasted Thomas' English muffinhappy in the hut
