Man that looks great. Did you buy the 'joists' (I assume that is what it is called for the gable area) or did you build them?Anderson, SC

I have a similar setup. Highly recommend a metal roof and a ceiling fan. Looks great.
-
Thanks guys. Been working on it a couple hours each night. Taking me forever. Cant wait until its done.
No, I built the joists. I am cheap.
jeroldharter, I plan on doing a ceiling fan but why the metal roof? Was thinking about going with regular shingles?

Metal is expensive but I did not need a huge quantity. I like the durability. It sheds snow easily. I like the sound of rain. I have a hip roof with rafters so the metal roof was screwed directly to the rafters - did not need sheathing so that offset the cost somewhat. Just my preference.
-
No im just mikeb9550. sorry...
Thanks jerold.. I was originally looking at fire resistance when I read shingles can withstand 2 ours of burn time. But then I also ready that you can strip the roof with 1x4s instead of sheathing. That would be easier. Will have to price it out. I dont need much either.
Thanks for the tips.
