OK, it stays light longer now but here's my question. I live in an old house and don't have outside lighting on the patio. How do some of you light your cooking area? I wear a baseball cap with little battery operated lights in the brim. Works OK but not great. Have any other suggestions? I looked at some pole type lamps at Lowes but they involved too much work to set up. Had to pour concrete for the base the guy-kid said. Just so you know, I'm a "mature" woman of significant age who does all the BGE smokin' and grillin'. So what other options do I have for lighting my space. Nineee

I have tried many lighting options - gooseneck type bbq grill lights, headlamps, visor LED lights, solar lights, and all were somewhat effective.I finally just bit the bullet and had an electrician put in a regular floodlight (the kind with 2 lightbulbs) with a GFCI plug in each of the 2 areas I have my cookers. I can't begin to tell you what a difference it made!. Was mad at myself for putzing around with inferior lighting for this many years. It was the single best lifestyle improvement in the last 2 years.#1 LBGE December 2012 • #2 SBGE February 2013 • #3 Mini May 2013A happy BGE family in Houston, TX.

Floodlighting is probably the best way to go, but if you're leaning towards something easier, check this out.I use this and it's great - lights up the entire cooking surface on my XL.Ajax, ON Canada(XL BGE, MED BGE, La Caja China #2, and the wife's Napoleon gasser)

I assembled this from off the shelf stuff. Microphone goose-neck, flange, clamp and powerful but cheap LED flashlight. Puts out way more light than any of those grill lights.

@Chubbs - I bought a bunch of that stuff for tools in the shop - I'd love to supply one to ya, but you'll have to send me your address - just write it on the back of a 1960 Rickenbacker 370 12-string guitar and send it to me! I'll take care of the rest, hell, might even send ya two!

I've got some solar lighting that I picked up at lowes and used some old landscape lighting parts to mount it to my pergola.Large & Small BGE, CGW Two-Tier Swing Rack for BOTH EGGS, Spider for the Wok, eggCARTen & and Cedar Pergola my Eggs call home in Edmond, OK.

@nolaegghead, I'm jealous about your mechanical capabilities. Wish I could do that, but I don't know where to even find the parts.*******Owner of a large and a beloved mini in Philadelphia

@jlsm - ain't no skill involved in this rig. Amazon parts. Dealextreme.com flashlight. Look for something that uses 18650 batteries, get a charger. I've posted all the parts a few times, they all screw together with minimal tools.
