Guru owners...

I just got a BBQ Guru (bday present from the wife). I used it last week for the first time and toward the end of the cook, after opening the lid, the pit display showed 3 dashes. It was the end of the cook so I didn't worry about it. I hooked it up today to do a brisket and the pit temp wouldn't register...just showed 3 dashes. Is the probe bad or am I doing something wrong? I understand the probes have to be fully inserted, so that is not it. Thx!

The ends of the probes screw in. Make sure they are tight.

Thanks RLeeper. The end was lose but that isn't the problem. The connection inside the probe is broken. Hopefully they will replace it without to much hassle. Hard to imagine something so expensive is so flimsy. Disappointed.

From what I hear you shouldn't have a problem. Did you buy from their site or from a dealer?

Hopefully it was just a bad connection and you will be good once its fixed. I haven't had any issues with mine and don't unplug it during cooks once I setup the open detect feature that I posted a link to in your last post.

Hopefully since it is so new you won't have any issue getting a new probe and you get to enjoy your birthday present.
