Picnic - skin on?

Do you leave the skin on your picnics? Took it off for the only one I've done but was a pain in the arse. Have read that you don't have to do it, but isn't that missing a possible bark opportunity?

I remove as much skin as possible. Usually give up at about 80%, and that is with a really sharp knife. Have also scored the skin, which at least lets more fat render.
