First Tri-tip and Man It Was Good

I just finished cooking my first tri-tip tonight. Very pleased with the results. I actually preferred it over a good ole Ribeye (I know I know) but it can't touch a Filet.

Seared on 700 for 3 mins a side and then brought the temp down to 400. Let the meat rest foiled while the temp came down. Finished to Medium (overshot medium rare) on the regular grate.

I had a few southwestern pinto beans and some onions and peppers. I was shocked that my kids loved it too!
