  Doubtful.  Probably a piece of refractory material or asbestos.  A pizza stone isn't thermal shock resistant - it's ceramic.  Not having seen it, I'm just guessing.

  Other than post a bunch of inflammatory language so the moderators remove it (with the unfortunate side-effect of getting banned), I have no idea ;)
