Told you I was busy this weekend (and we didn't even cook Saturday, we ate out). This is what we had Sunday.

I tried MOINK Balls years and years ago and wasn't that impressed, but this weekend I had to try them again. There must be something to them, maybe I screwed them up the first time, I don't know. But they had to be done again to get a fair picture in my head.

I don't know what bag of frozen meatballs I picked up, probably Safeway brand since I was in Tom Thumb. They were rubbed down with Stubbs Rub and went on the Egg at 250 and hickory was used for smoke.

After one hour, I started glazing them every 10 minutes for the next 30 minutes with some new-to-me bbq sauce out of Elgin, Texas called Meyers (it was their spicy version)

Finished after 90 minutes

And since Man can not live on appetizers alone...or can they? Anyway....I made more appetizers.

I gotta say...I was wrong about MOINK Balls. I must have screwed them up somehow years ago. These were smokey and salty and moist and juicy. The BBQ sauce I picked was probably not the perfect one as these had a bit of a bite to them, but I can see where other ones would benefit them more. These are gonna go on my menu to help fight off the hordes in the future when I've got hungry masses to fend off while waiting for a brisket or a butt to be done.

Nice job on all of the appetizers!

I have found that MOINKs go very quickly at gatherings and are particularly loved by kids & teens. I make them for potluck events at work and my co-workers are crazy for them (more than probably everything else that I cook for them). I like how easy they are to make. Simple but good.

Simple, good and feed the masses cheaply. And can you not like that?
