Went to a rib cook off here in Toledo Ohio last summer. Ate a few bones from a few different vendors and I have to say my wife and I were very disappointed. Although the ribs were cooked very well they were some of the blandest ribs I have ever had. Can anyone here shed some light as to why? Did I just pick a few bad vendors? Sure we're a lot of trophys stacked up? Thanks all!!!

    Iceman,

I know what you're talking about. It's almost like these things are a popularity contest instead of a taste contest. If I or you are ever at a comp where the Dizzy Pig gang is cooking, stop by. I promise it won't be bland. Their spices are the something else!

Were they from vendors or competitors? I can assure you the trophies didn't come from "bland" ribs.
