Recommendation for Extra Large?

One of my buddies wives is thinking of getting him a BGE for Fathers day. She is looking at the extra large. I have a large, and am very happy with it. Does the extra large work as well? I recall some people had some problems with the large when it first appeared? Does it BBQ as easy as the large? Does it get as hot for grilling?

    The size of the XL is impressive, but how often will they be cooking for a small army? It's hard to beat the large unless you have a large/small combo.

    T-47, I'm very happy with my Large. I can feed PLENTY of people whenever called to duty, and it is easy enough to use nightly for just my wife and me. I just can't justify spending that much. Just my two cents.
