I actually took this out of the green egg cook book. Here is a copy I found online. http://books.google.ca/books?id=fXqJkerH-o4C&pg=PA235&lpg=PA235&dq=green+egg+apple+pancake&source=bl&ots=WO0KlO2X7v&sig=0lu1hSUpMWyBcacL3LkAYgJ8GA8&hl=en&sa=X&ei=p0GwT42GAujc0QG3x8W5DA&ved=0CFYQ6AEwAw#v=onepage&q=green egg apple pancake&f=false
We ate it as is. No need for syrup!

I made the same thing today. Yours looked better than mine. I used dark brown sugar instead of light. It made it look like it had been left on too long, but it was delicious.
Did you follow the directions to a tee? I was confused as to why it had you sautee the apples on the plate setter, then add the pizza stone. My dome temp never recovered before the dish was done.

Yep I followed it to a tee and used dark brown sugar. My egg recovered to 500 quite quickly. Out of curiousity do you use the stock fire grate? I have a High Que that I installed recently which seems to allow my egg to recover quicker then before. I think adding the

cold pizza stone give the apples a thermal break to allow just the
batter to set up while slowing down the apples. I did use a pampered
chef stoneware pie plate which could account for the difference in
color. My wife often bakes banana bread on the egg in the stoneware
loaf pan and works very well. We have used glass loaf pans but it will come out darker. -
I used glass. That must be the difference. I have a stock fire grate, but my egg is an XL. I've read numerous posts saying that the high q isn't beneficial for the XL because of the numerous air holes. My pizza stone is the BGE stone, which is about 1/4" thicker than a pampered chef stone. The thermal break makes sense.Mark Annville, PA

I have made a few of those before. They seem to really turn out amazing.I just cook it at 400 until done and it turns out very well every time.
