OK, I am new to this but I was coming back from Houston last week and noticed a store in Conroe, Texas that had wicked charcoal. I picked up two bags (all I had room for) and headed home. When I got home and opened the bag they are briquettes! Can I still use themin my EGG?

Contrary to "BGE urban legend" it won't hurt your egg, or ruin your food. It will make a lot more ash than hardwood charcoal, and it will not burn as hot.

Scott, sure you can use briquettes. WGC are some of the best. Although all briquettes produce a lot of ash, WGC briquettes actually produced less ash than a couple of brands of lump. Just don't use lighter fluid to start them. Good luck!

Love that place. That's where I get my WGC. They are a good butcher shop to. Picked up a few bone-in ribeyes and they were delish.Large BGE Dallas, TX

Thanks guys! The place there in Conroe is an amazing meat market.
I mixed the Wicked with Lump Charcoal last night and it burned well. Yes indeed, more ash!
