why is it illegal in MI? didn't Jimmy Carter change the federal law to allow beer and wine making at home?
State Laws The 21st Amendment predominantly leaves regulation of alcohol to the states. Thus, even though homebrewing is federally legal, it is still up to individual states to legalize homebrewing in state codes. The vast majority of states have legalized homebrewing, though laws regarding homebrewing vary widely.
mississippi (of all places) just defeated the "personhood" amendment with a public vote and the newly sworn in legislature is making it's passage without a vote from the people a priority.
