If using a wired probe like a QB2, Does it mess up the gasket? Or do ya go through the top?

It's not a problem to run it between the top and bottom gasket.

I'm not familiar with a QB2 but I use a Maverick with meat and smoker probes. The probe wires are relatively small and flat. The gasket seams to seal around them just fine when the lid is closed and I haven't seen any evidence of a permanent dent. I also use that PartyQ temperature controller that has a smoker probe. No problem with that either.

I just did a cook with three wired meat probes and one pit probe. No problems.

How do you like the PartyQ?

I have really enjoyed it so far. I wanted to start with something easy to operate...just wanted something to keep temps constant for long butt cooks...and didn't want to pay for a more elaborate controller. It has been great and worked perfectly so far.

My only suggestion so far is to make the alligator clip for the temp probe just a little bigger so that you could clip it to a rib rack...I cant for the rib rack that I use.
