Egg Questions??? (First Timer; Need Help)

So, I got my egg a little while back and I was storing it at a friends house for a bit before I moved into my new house. Well anyway, I just opened my egg as I'm preparing for my first smoke this weekend, and apparently my friend used the egg. It is covered in mold. What's the best way to clean (deep clean) my plate setter, grill grate, and fire ring? Also, it appears there may be some moisture inside my thermometer and I want to calibrate it before this weekend. What's the go to method for this? Thanks for any help.

Boil water and give it a test. Turn nut on back to adj, if necessary.
