My leader is having a get together tomorrow evening so I offered to make some pulled pork. Just got it on the BGE waiting for the temp to stabilize then time to get some sleep. Figure it will be done sometime tomorrow, as we don't eat until 7:00 I am not concerned.

Photo from last night slathered up with some mustard.

Looks like you're off to a good start. Can't wait to see the final results.

Are you using a remote thermometer lick a Maverick?

I am sure it will be a hit!  That's a pork picnic, not a butt, FYI.  The flavor is actually preferred in my house, but you will get a lot less yield.  Enjoy.

Nope goin' commando. I have burned up two remote sensor wires and have not replaced the probes yet. Just checked and I am still rock steady on 250. Having no issues in getting the dogs to go outside, hahaha.

Well my pork went TURBO! Put it on last night around 10 and done at 8 this morning. Was just checking the fire and thought I would check the internal temp, 200 degrees. OK pick it up, dang the bone fell out, scoop it up and put it in some HDAF.

Gonna let it cool down a bit then into the firdge and then warm up tonight for dinner and pull.

Oh ya the sample was melt away delicious!

Looks amazing. I have done buts and picnics in the past but have never noticed a difference in the taste, probably because they have been so far apart in when I did them. I think maybe someday I will have to do both at the same time to see if I can tell a difference.

Looks great DMurf! I'm sure everyone will love it. I think I am going to do a butt on Sunday.
