Cost difference is significant, how long does a 14 oz canister last? I know this is a subjective question, but let's say starting 3 cooks per week.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Propane won't stay lit if turned upside down.

i have the mapp and love it... a cannister will last a lot longer than you think it will.

Like the screen name.
I have a torch that burns both, I have propane on it now and it will work close to but not upside down -
Also note that MAPP burns hotter so your lump is ready faster. (ie: you don't have to use as much as you would if you were using propane) I use 1 cannister per 6 months.

I use propane and have no problemwith it going out. Takes about a minute to get two or three spots lit.
