Good Afternoon everyone! Hope everyone is having a great weekend. I did a search for using the Egg as a tandoor. Not much out there. Has anyone ever tried it and if so do you just send the skewered meat through the chimney top without the "daisy wheel" or how is it done if it can be done?
Thanks for all the help.

One of these days, I may try it. Looks like good stuff!I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

Looks like you 2nd attempt was pretty successful. Congratulations! The plate of ceramic briquettes as a base for the skewers appears to have been a good idea. Interesting that you had better results with a lower temperature than higher. How long did it take to do the 2nd batch?

After experimenting with kick-ass iron rods, suspending from hooks, etc. I've now settled on the KISS method. i.e. straight on the grid, for smaller quantity I use small CI grid on spider for better char and faster cook. Like I said before, tandoor needs skewers to be inserted out of necessity due to its design, BGE has a lid so why not use it.
