Fire Grate Help

My fire grate broke into three pieces yesterday. Since I want to grill some chops tonight, I would like to stop at the hardware store on the way home and buy a drain grate of some sort that will work until I can get the replacement. Can someone share with me the diameter of the grate so I can save a trip home?

I know the large is 9 inches...

I am looking for the other sizes as well. I dont remember if you specified the size or not...

for years I used an 11" cast iron floor drain. It gave me better air flow from underneath...kinda like ramming more air in that Vette of yours! :laugh:

You mean bigger is really better?

I could be satisfied with 9 inches, but if I can get 11, I'll go for it!

LOL - yes it rides higher in the fire box and therefore has more surface full of air holes, yet with a minimal infringement of space.
