Pizza For The Mongul Hordes (wife's family)

Had a delayed family get-together for Marina Ranger's 14th Birthday (actually July 4th). My first real attempt at multiple pies. Took a lot of advice from resident pizza pro, Darian (PhotoEgg), and raised my stone off of the setter using my homemade (GASP!) galvanized ring from my Mini.
And, yes, I cheated. And, I'll continue to cheat in the future. I used packaged, frozen dough ($1.79 ea.). Let them thaw for 24 hours in the fridge, then set on the cabinet about 2 hours before beginning the cook. Left all of the dough balls sealed in the package until ready to use. Allowed them to rise in the package, and when I removed them there was a rich, yeasty aroma to each. They came out great. I have two more that went back in the fridge that I'll do today.
Good Sunday to all.

The guest of honor is a beautiful young lady. Great pictures. Lloyd loves the cowboy hat on the egg.
Couple ?s
1. Is the galvanized ring the same they use to hang garage door openers:
2. What is the ID and OD of the ring
3. Did you get the dough at CM or HEB?
4. Why the "GASP!"? (memory aint what it use to be and I can't count either )Large, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx -
Hey, Bob. How's the smoke over there?
-
It did. I know I should be ashamed, but I'm not a pie purist at this point. Sure makes for easy fix and cleanup.

Kind of been slacking a bit, only one of me and at this time of the year I can't ask anyone over as I don't run the air and my place is anywhere from 94 to 98 inside.
I think I'm cooking my self. Plus I have fridge empty and unplugged.
Yep, the sun has gotten to me.
But I'm looking to do something very soon.
Cheers,
Bordello -
Fantástico Mike,Great looking pies. Felicidades a Marina on her 14th, sh's getting prettier by the day.
-
Thanks Joan.
Yep, 1-3/8" galvanized strap sold at Home Depot/Lowes.
I made a form by cutting a circle of wood that fit just inside the inside diameter of the underside of my Mini grid. Make sense? I then formed the strap around the wooden disk, cut to length and bolted. (see pic) So, my grid fits right over the ring and sits snug.
The "GASP" is for those who have the opinion that I'm dying a slow death because of the use of galvanized metal in the Egg. Check past threads for "galvanized".
Got the dough at HEB. With the frozen rolls.
Best to you.

Thanks, My Friend. Article in this morning's paper said it was another ugly scene in Monterrey yesterday. Absolutely senseless.
Stay safe.

Sounds toasty! Are you getting any smoke from the fires?
-
Thanks, Molly. Yep 14 goin' on 25!

Fine lookin pies Mr Ranger.

Thanks,
I don't think the galvanized will kill you any faster that the ceramic pizza stones made in chine that we use. I don't remember you having a third eye at Salado   On the way to the hdwr storeLarge, small and mini now Egging in Rowlett Tx -
Nice pizza's! Happy Birthday to the birthday girl!
Good to see that I'm not the only one that makes modifications for egg setups. :cheer: Oooooh, I see a split firering, intentional or unintentional? Mine is intentional. :P -
Happy to say no. After the big dust storm we had a couple of hazy days and while no smell some thougt it might have been blown in by the Tucson fire. I thought it was just a haze.

I want to see if they sell that brand in my area. The dough looks perfect. I like it with the bubbles. The only readymade other than a pizza place, is Publix. It is the worst dough I have ever used.

Intentional

Good luck on the search!

Well and good, My Friend. Yep, they get older by the minute.
Best to you, Buddy.

Thanks, Faith. Pulled that old hat out of the shop to wear while mowing the lawn and just set it on the Mini while I cooled off. Looked like it belonged there. It's from a previous stage of my life. Much too da%ned old to pretend to be George Strait, anymore (even though we're about the same age). Sandles and shorts are much more comfy than boots and tight Wranglers. Here's me in the hat when it was clean. http://www.ticketsinventory.com/images/last_photos/concert/G/george-strait/george-strait_2011_3281.png
