Before I found this forum I had two failed attempts at ribs. Dried out, tough and generally not tasty. I put a homemade rub on yesterday then did 2 hours of apple wood smoke indirect around 240 deg. with apple juice, onion, and apples in a drip pan sitting on the plate setter then two hours in foil with apple juice same temp. Then 30 min. each side direct same temp to finish with sauce. Literally falling off the bone! Some fell apart when I tried to take them off the grill. Sticky sweet and spicy!
I love this forum!

Has anyone ever used the drip pan goodness to create a dish. It smelled incredible so I tasted it and it was interesting. Could be a base for a sauce. I will add some garlic next time.
