As a newbie on the egg I have been searching these forums a lot, as a web developer for a career I was yearning to use google to search instead of the default forum search engine. Luckily I can do that:
http://www.google.com/cse/home?cx=014530981887270777020:koobyuzg5ca
Is a custom search engine that will display only results for this forum. I found it useful so wanted to post it in case others do as well.

Re: the new forum search...
Google custom search engines can actually be embedded into the forum directly instead of being on a separate page. What I mean is that the "search forum" textbox above could easily do the kind of google search on the webpage I posted, all hosted within the forums pages.
I am not sure who controls the forum software, but linking the "search forum" box to a google custom search engine would not be a super-hard thing to do (I think, it depends on the forum software of course). I am a web developer by trade so if the forum owners need any help with this kind of stuff, I am happy to do what I can.
Glad it is helpful to people!

Awesome! Thanks

Thanks.
Do you have this searching the subject line or in the body of the posts. I just did a few quick searches and it seems the google hit responds to the "In Reply to: ~then the search criteria~"
It will be interesting to play around with this a little.
Again, thanks.

Thanks for this. I have often been quite frustrated with the EHF search. Right off the line it beats it!
