Season new stainless rig grates?

I just received my XL rig and am smoking some ribs tomorrow for Father's Day. Do I need to season the stainless steel grates, and, if so, how? (My concern is not for the cook tomorrow necessarily but for longevity of the grate. I did not season main main egg grate when i got it and have had no issues over many cooks in 7 months.)
Thanks,
Thanks,

Cook on it straight out of the box you will be fine. Have a great rib cook.

Do what Tim said.Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

I would spray a little non stick spray and cook.

Seasoning with salt and pepper is all that is needed. Have fun.

No need to season stainless, in fact, I'm not sure you can season it

Thanks for the info.

The only seasoning I do with any new item coming in contact with food the first time is to wash it in hot water with soap. There is always a chance "Artie Assembler" or "Phil Packager" just got back from the restroom before handling your grate! LOL - I doubt the factory has a sign reading "All employees must wash there hands before returning to the line!"
Seriously though there's a chance there is some manufacturing oil residue or such so why not wash it, but seasoning per se - no need!Re-gasketing America one yard at a time.
