Yesterday morning the wife tells me they’re serving a stack of pancakes to so & so at work with a candle in it for his birthday, a birthday pancake-cake. I kind of felt stupid thinking what I was thinking but of course it gnawed at me like a well-aged festerment until I got it off my mind this morning.
The pan cake is a three layer breakfast cake: a bottom layer of batter with chocolate chips, a middle layer of grilled pork sausage icing :ermm: , and a top layer of batter strewn with cinnamon/sugar/butter blobules  :
begin by making the icing:
smash it into a spring form pan to get the correct size & shape:
onto the grill for some nice flavor:
next, the cake batter:
pour some in the spring form pan
top off with some chocolate chips
add the layer of icing
make the cinnamon sugar blobules
add more batter topped off with the blobules & back onto the egg until done
about 30 minutes later:
all done:
on the plate
my only regret was my lack of nuts

Same old regrets every time, eh?
Again, the creativity is just astounding.
I settled for cinnamon rolls and four cups of coffee to try and beat back the hangover of the century. Rookie goalie has a shutout last night in his first game and there were three absolutely epic fights at the hockey game last night - the beer was flowing pretty heavily. We kept pace until 4am.
I hate myself. -
That is pretty creative...I'll leave the "nuts" satement alone. :laugh:Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

yep, some things never change. 4am is just a skosh out of reach for me anymore, I'm more likely to be waking up at that time than going to bed :laugh:happy in the hut

Mouth watering. Drool factor 10. Fun food! :woohoo:
Much much better than my rye crisp with soy nut butter for breakfast. :(
You heading south in about a month? I hope so... -
thanks Clay, as for the fest, I'm registered but it's not looking too promising at this point :unsure:happy in the hut

What an imagination, Marc! That looks almost good enough to eat.

Are you kidding me?? Crazy, awesome and can smell it from here.....I'm thinking a little warm maple syrup would push it from insane to certifiable!

Zippy, again another very inventive and creative cook. The gears in your brain seem to always be moving at high speed when you cook. Looks good. Mike

Your slaying us out here Marc, the drool is causing sever dehydration. :P
It's good to see my old friend Bisquick being put to good use. I lived out of a tent (by choice) one summer in Maine and made many wild blueberry pancakes with it every weekend they were ripe. True Paradise!
I was wondering if you could have cooked up a few scrambled eggs just to the point where they wouldn't run and add them in on top of the sausage? Just a thought. Market it to one of the fast food chains and retire!
Thanks for sharing,
Blair
