No Brisket this week, but the pork butt is rollingI raise my kids, cook and golf. When work gets in the way I'm pissed, I'm pissed off 48 weeks a year.Inbetween Iowa and Colorado, not close to anything remotely entertaining outside of football season.

SOO Jealous of both of you!
-
So I probably shouldn't mention the two racks of baby backs that will be placed above the butt here in a couple of hours :PI raise my kids, cook and golf. Did mine yesterday!!

No beasts today, just 25lbs of butts for my staff. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:SEE YOU IN FLORIDA, March 14th and 15th 2014 http://www.sunshinestateeggfest.com You must master temp, smoke, and time to achive moisture, taste, and texture! Visit www.bubbatim.com for BRISKET HELP

As of 7 AM temp in dome is 195º and holding
-
I am. Brisket on, going strong....and the Torrential Downpour is about to hit.
Managed to get the fire lit and dome down before the rain started. We're supposed to get 2" of rain today.
And I'll be happily egging right through it. -
dam you! :(
-
Isn't that dome temp a little low? I thought the cooking grid was supposed to be about 25 degrees cooler than the dome temp....
-
Nice!
-
About to put a flat on in a few minutes....as I, like others, am dealing with a downpour this morning. Ugh!
I'd also say the 195 dome mentioned above is too low. If the grate temp is 25 degrees lower, that brisket would take forever I'm thinking.
I do a 250 dome on all my low and slows. Much easier to get a stable fire on the Egg. -
Its raining here, time for the "TINFOIL HAT"
-
I use the same rain hat, works great. Does fall off some times when you raise the lid.
