Hello!
Any of you central FL eggers have a recommendation on a good meat market? I'm in Windermere but willing to drive a bit. Seems hard to find good steaks around here.
Any help appreciated!

Isn't there a COSTCO around there? A few posts ago someone was taking about them carrying prime beef. If not I would look up wholesalers (Rest. supply) in the phone book and call one until you find one who does a little retail on the side. We have one of those in Tampa who has some really good stuff.

I like Hopkins in Sanford. Everything I have had from them has been excellent. I have never bought a steak there.

Call them up and see if they have what you want.

Petty's is gourmet retail. There are 2 more here in Melbourne. Home of the BGE Sunshine Fest!

Restaurant Depot is for businesses in the food trade, but if you call in advance and ask for the manager, they sometimes will let you have a one time pass, cash only.

Thanks for the suggestions all...

Costco - Prime steaks, good value, WAY to inconsistent in quality.
Whole Foods - nice steaks, often slightly overpriced.
Fresh Market - nice steaks, better value than WF.
Petty's - decent selection; Prime strips are expensive, but Prime ribeyes aren't bad ($16.99/lb). The Harris Ranch steaks aren't bad, and are slightly over priced @ $13.99/lb.
Also mentioned was RD, but you'll need a business license, or know someone who has one to get in.
Not sure how far you're willing to drive. -
Restaurant Depot is my favorite. I drive about 100 miles round trip to shop there.
