While I finally decided to go all the way. After work I am picking up an XL egg and tomorrow (Sat) picking up 200lb of black angus beef from the ranch itself. This weekend I will be building a table or should I say throne for the egg. Yeah!!! By the way it's been great reading all the post on this site.

Tod,
You won't get 200 lbs of beef on the XL. Welcome and post pics.

200 lbs of beef!! You best stock up on some extra charcoal while your at it cause once you taste your first steak/burgers on the egg you will want to cook everything on it. Look forward to seeing pictures of the "throne".

Got my XL a week ago and have cooked on it every night but one. You are going to love it and the people on here are great at answering questions about egging.

Need any help with sampling the black angus? The egg will become quite an addiction...but a good one.

I hope to put it to good use, I have been wanting to get one for awhile. Thanks for the replies.

What part of the world are you in?Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers. -
You won't be sorry. I think you will like the egg also.

Apart from the lump charcoal don't forget the 200 lbs of Pork and at least 50 chickens, and some dizzy Pig and some Carnivore Sauce and some....

I second the addictiveness. Check out my blog below to see all of the cooks I have done since I got my large going at the beginning of the year. It has not slowed at all.

I really do not know what this word is "Winter" I'm live in the panhandle of Florida, in Crestview. I retired from the USAF last year and spent 06-09 in Germany so I know a little of the cold stuff.

PCFisher You will not regret it. Got my first egg about 10 years ago, and thought it was only good for slow cooked ribs and butts. Discovered this forum, and it totally opened my eyes. Hang around here, and you will learn a bunch! Welcome.

I bought the Egg over in Pensacola at Escambia Electric, when I picked it up last night they told me that they are FL #1 seller. I know they beat any other price I found.

I picked up the ash scraper and the electric starter. I also think I need to pick up that ceramic heat thing with the 3 legs. So much to buy, I'm getting ready to go pick up the meat.
