Had a great time with this cook. It is really amazing how the Egg runs, once it gets happy.
With all the help here, I was able to set the Egg up to run without any problems for the whole 21 hrs.
Some pics
17 lb shoulder
Skinned
Rubbed with Dizzy Dust...great stuff
Egg cleaned out...thirsty work
Filled up to the top, some cherry and apple wood for smoke
21 hrs later
It wanted to fall apart trying to get it off the grill
Pulled apart like a dream
Mixed with SBR and piled high with some coleslaw...tasty
Took some to work for the guys and got some really nice comments back.
I blamed it all on the Egg
Very happy with the way this turned out
Thanks for looking
Shane

Great looking pig.
For getting it off the grill, if you don't have a pair, get some bbq gloves (rubber just enough insulation for grabbing a brisket, butt, whole chicken, etc. off the hot grill). -
looks mighty fine. good job.

WOW Shane it looks like you nailed it. With all you posting hard to belive this is your first porker. You sure did it well.....Salado TX & 30A FL: Egg Family: 3 Large and a very well used Mini, added a Mini Max when they came out (I'm good for now). Plus a couple Pit Boss Pellet Smokers.

Nice job Shane. I find the hardest part is being patient for 17 plus hours to take the meat off and enjoy it.
-
Shane, that sandwich looks perfect. Good job.
That was one big pork shoulder.Happily egging on my original large BGE since 1996... now the owner of 5 eggs. Call me crazy, everyone else does!

Shane, Glad your first pulled pork cook came out great and a whole shoulder at that. :P I love the whole shoulder cook myself I think the combined flavors of the picnic and butt are the best.

That looks great.

Looks perfect Shane! I have done a few overnighters with 2 butts, however I have not tried the whole shoulder. I think I might just have to give it a try.
Did you go around 250 dome for the whole cook?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg. -
Just paying it foreward my friend.
