Sent my son to Publix to get some charcoal. I didn't look at the bag, put in in the egg then burned the bag in the fire pit. Fired up the xl, waited went to check the temp and thought to myself what is that smell. Turns out it is heating coal. What a stench, I just hope the egg is not ruined forever. What would you suggest ? Burn about 10 bags of charcoal and see if the smell goes away?

No, lol My wife said it is kind of hard to find in the store. So I wrote down what to get and told him to ask someone to show him where it was. They showed him the wrong item. I should have looked at the bag when I saw how shiny it was. Was in a hurry and didn't think much of it. :(

Heating coal is mined , Lump is made from wood.

coal only smells til its all lit, then it burns clean, just empty ot out and burn a little lump. now i hafta ask, how did you not notice that the 10 pound bag of lump weighed 40 pounds :laugh: :laugh: i light my lump sometimes with a shovel full off lit coal dumped on top, got 4 tons of it piled in the front yard right now to get me thru the winter and it also says its a green heat source on the bag :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it

:laugh: i know :laugh: if one were to do that the oil and napkin trick, mapp torch, weedburner, startercube etc wouldnt work too well either :laugh:fukahwee maineyou can lead a fish to water but you can not make him drink it
