A week or so ago I bit on a foodsaver during a time when the sales were on. I also had some BBB in the fridge curing and recently smoked it and let my butcher friend slice it up. So, when the foodsaver came today I put it right to work.

Very nice. I orderd some of the steamer bags as well.
Yet to try them.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -
Hey Darian, I never had one before and so far it works great! Now I'll be able to buy in bulk and put away for later.

Dang that looks like a nice set up especially for the price. I couldn't get in on the deal so I will just have to be envious.

Money well spent. I use my foodsaver all the time.
Also great to protect "any" iten you can fit in a bag.
Important papers, coins, fishing and hunting gear.
You name it.Thank you,DarianGalveston Texas -

Looking good Tim. I've had a food saver for years. Use it all the time. I get mine at costco so when it fails, and they all do, I return it and they replace it. Great warranty. Kinda like the egg. :laugh:Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

I need to look at the warranty from foodsaver. I haven't even checked it yet.
-
This warranty is from costco. It is for life on everything except computer and tv and stuff like that. As a matter of a fact I have heard of people returning half of a birthday cake cause they were full and didn't want any more or when someone bought some shrimp in the summer and went shopping elsewhere spoiling the shrimp...took it all back. I'm not ever going to do anything like that but people do.Dave San Jose, CA The Duke of Loney

Nice Tim! I ordered one on Saturday, can't wait until it arrives. Watching all of y'all making Buckboard bacon and other cured meats got me wanting to try it. Foodsaver is my first step.
-
NICE! Tim,you've been a busy boy.You must think Santa is watching! :woohoo: Looks great.I have an old model. How do you like yours so far?
-
No more shrimp or birthday cake for me. :S
-
Cool! I ordered and received the same one - works great.
Hopefully you got in on that 35% off everything sale that was about a week ago. -
So far so good. I pretty much took it out of the box and used it. It is model V3485 and it came with the marinade containers and extra rolls...I like it just fine. The trouble is we have a very small kitchen so no counter space. :( I still want a Kitchenaid mixer. We'll see I may have to wait for a while.

I got it when all the deals were going on but, this was a package deal for a high price but, I got well over $160 off...I got one of the better units and all kinds of extras for a blow out price. Or so I think.

Great pics!
I ordered the super discount one on foodsavers website and a box of the assorted rolls and bags from Costco. Mine came last week and I've already cut and bagged a pork shoulder, brisket, 5 pounds of andouille sausage and 3 pounds of tasso from Jason's, a bunch of smoked ham hocks and did bacon wrapped filet mignon from a whole tenderloin.Egging on two larges + 36" Blackstone griddle -
Mine was also delivered today. Cant wait to try it out.Large & MiniMax in Lexington, KY

I really like mine. I got one at Costco a few years back. I use it a lot. I haven't had good luck with the canisters that came with it but the plastic bag thing is great. I also use it to reseal plastic bags like the ones frozen vegies come in. I never use the whole package so I reseal it with the foodsaver. Sometimes it doesn't get the air sucked out right on those but it always reseals and seems to make a big difference in the stuff not getting freezer burn. It stores easily sideways in a small cupboard so is always handy. It turned out to be a good purchase for us.
-
Hey Gwen, I haven't tried the canisters yet but, I have a built in hose and a marinade setting and, I was told when using that setup the foodsaver turns on vacuum for a while then off then back on...then when the light goes out the food has been marinated. I can't wait to try it on a piece of chicken. :P
-
Hey Tony, Did you hit the back button or submit a few times.
Have a great Christmas. -
Oh,I didn't try it with marinating. I was just using it for food storing/saving. It kept losing the vacuum. I think I was using it for storing cheese or something like that.
-
I got in on one myself thanks to seeing it on the forum. What a great price.
-
I'm getting ready to do a quick marinade on some loin chops as we speak. Enjoy yours, Tim
