Guys, I posted 16 photos in a gallery from Eggtoberfest 2010
HERE
I live very close to the speedway, so I just drove over there without tickets thinking I'd find some at the gate, or not. I had stuff I could do in that part of town anyway.
As it was, I stayed for several hours, asked a lot of questions, looked at everything I could, and just had a fun time getting mild smoke inhalation of the Good Kind. lol
The day was beautiful, the folks were nice, and there were so damn many eggs out there I couldn't believe it... I saw a bunch of lovely things being cooked, and studied all the various egg tables closely with an eye towards building my own.
As a noob, I fear I'll dissapoint with my photos....they are taken from a noob's perspective of things I just found interesting about the whole thing. I would have no way of recognizing anyone or picking up on the key things that an experienced egger would want to see.
I bought a few new toys too; two sets of those wire shishkabob thingies, and a cool aluminum searing grid thingie. yay! More on that later.

Thanks for the pics. That burger basket (img_5210) looks like a pretty handy tool. I have not seen that eggcessory before. I've seen similar- but not with a removable handle. I want one! I don't see it on the web site yet- do you happen to know if this is something new?Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

Great! Ok, thank you for saying that...makes me feel better about the decision to put them up here. -
SmokeyPitt,
Those were interesting to me but very small, like breakfast sausage patty size (appx 2" diameter). I had no idea what that was so I took a shot. I didn't get a name or brandname or anything. sorry.

I thought your pics were great! BTW, I live at Jackson Lake, and work in Hampton, send me an email with contact info and maybe we can get together and cook.

No problem. It does look like an interesting little device. I reckon it is for sliders.Which came first the chicken or the egg? I egged the chicken and then I ate his leg.

SmokeyPitt,
It is called a Slider Basket. We talked to the guy and he is trying to get BGE to buy it from him so they can market it. It isn't out for sale yet....very nice tool.
