This was an easy Weber recipe that I got today as a weekly recipe email. It served as my excuse to buy a Oxo mango splitter that I have been wanting for awhile. What was I waiting for? Makes 1/2 mangoes fast. Peel first then split.
I substituted Dizzy Dust for their rub. The recipe includes a citrusy Orange-Lime-Ginger-Honey glaze that went with and it really set off the 'bobs. I have the recipe as an email and if anyone wants it I can email it.
Just getting started
Gettin' cooked
Dinner is served
Enjoy your meal.

Fabulous cook!
Few things, reject those "W" recipes...please
Second, VERY important, you DO not need an apperatuse to do anything to a mango. Peel by hand, take what you need...if you are using it for cooking.
My take on mango is the only way to eat one is in the shower.Molly

Okay, well I uh... uh... I'm not real sure where it came from... uh I found it.... uh, in a ditch, had to wrestle it from a big black dog... he nearly had me uh I think I'm okay now.
With a mango splitter you don't have to eat in the shower. -
 I say you don't need no stinckin mangp splitter!!Molly

I was trying hard to keep fantasy out of this I still have the mango in the shower image in my head. That's reason enough to own a splitter. :(

Molly, they were real nice kebabs. :P

mangoes are finger food
they are just as much an outside in the summer food as shower food in the winter
you bite into them and the juices run down the sides of your mouth
the juice runs down your palms and onto your arms
mangoes are meant to be savored
the juice is meant to be licked off your arms
mangoes are meant to be experienced, like all good food
don't tell us you don't smell your hands after holding them over the top vent of your BGE -
Yup...swhat I mean!!!!Molly

This is a treat, I agree, and I am as tactile as anyone but we're making frickin' kebabs here and not lickin' our fingers, girls.

I admit only to eating the vestiges from the pit but I washed my hands. I am trained to do that. Years in the food business. Hand sink by the garbage.

Would like to know about the mango tool. Some varities are a PITA to get the meat off the seeds.
Here is an idea for the extra mangos.

 No. No. No. I used a sharpened peeler so as not to waste any of that sweet meat. You're not gonna get me here.

Thank you and bless you my son. I was nearly skewered myself until your voice of reason. Bed Bath and Beyond Oxo Mango splitter. They will give it to you in a plain brown bag for 12.99 and tax.
-
Are they gone...... ?
-
actually, mangoes ripen very nicely in a plain brown paper bag
-
Run, Forrest, Run!!!! :cheer: :cheer:

Just to clarify, not being crude here. Ted, The Nuge, is known for that song, I added mango because it fit, so to say... His cookbook, "Kill It & Grill It", makes me want to go out and take an elk, though they are never seen here in Florida, as far as I know...
-
Maybe you could sneak up on a wild mango!
-
On the Suncoast, it's not too difficult.
-
Except that mangoes are in the sumac plant family, and a significant number of people sensitive to poison ivy will get a similar reaction from mango skins. My mother coulnd't find the source of her "poison ivy" rashes (on the hands, a bit on the face), and mango skins were the culprit. Now she just peels 'em wearing gloves. The flesh of the fruit poses no problem, just the peel.

Q;
