Cooking high in the dome!

What is the advantage of cooking higher up in the dome? I see people posting that are always commenting about getting the cook higher.

What does this accomplish?

I am not referring to multiple layer cooks.

    You get more higher heat the higher you cook in the egg, plus the dome radiates the heat evenly.

    I think you also have less radiant heat from the plate setter wich might be a concern on high temp cooks.

    I do direct cooks higher up to keep the outside of the meat from cooking to fast.
