Got home from the Hog Wild BBQ competition in Mobile, AL and fired up the BGE. Got some new rubs to play with! Saw a few BGEers and some sure nuff big rigs. Those folks are serious!

Started out with ABT's stuffed with Cream cheese and pulled pork that was left over from last nights BBQ sandwiches.

  • Sorry about the pic sizes, forgot to resize them.
  • Your pictures came through fine. However I am curious as to what size you sent them as I cannot always open other Eggers' pictures even though others can
  • Try again, still trying to learn this photo download stuff.

  • I could see your pictures both time and both times the food look great.
  • Man I'm confused now. The first time I posted it the pics came up the size of a stamp on my puter. Second time I tried both sets of pics the right size but real distorted.

Not sure what is going on. I see them clearly in standard not wide view.

looks like to me the first time you posted/uploaded thumbnails..then when you tried to resize them they didn't have the resolution to zoom up...hard to tell but that's what it looks like to me..
  • John, I think I used the 640x400 size in Photoshop. Sometimes when I can't see someones pictures if I change my view from flat to classic and I can see them.

What'd you cook at the competition? The pizzas look great!
  • I'm just a beginner in BBQ. Just went to see the pros in action, their different techniques and buy some rubs.

All of your pics came through just fine on this end, in standard view. They look great.

That sounds like a good idea...I went to the Nat'l BBQ Association's meeting they had here in Austin, but didn't stick around to talk with the cooks because I was on a mission to grab the DigiQ II (great price, too) and head back home to cook for some family that was in town from New York and Philadelphia. They did have some rubs and sauces there, but nothing that I didn't see at the local barbecue shops here in Texas. Next time around, I'll plan on making a day of it and going around and talking with the cooks to find out how they do things.
  • I remember eating those. They were really tasty.
    :P
