If you read the other threads I posted I mentioned I was working on some bigger projects. I finished one up today.

This is a 5 inch santoku that I've been working on for a bit. The handle is walnut stained ebony that I "distressed" a bit on the edges. I am sure it's not correct compared to tradition but I like it.

I can definitely see myself making a few more of these. Now I need to make a nice end grain board for pictures instead if my ugly plastic one.

Thanks for the reminder that I have zero talent.  That's a hell of a job!

The DudeThis is a very complicated case, Maude. You know, a lotta ins, lotta outs, lotta what-have-you's. And, uh, lotta strands to keep in my head, man. Lotta strands in old Duder's head. Luckily I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug regimen to keep my mind, you know, limber.

Walter SobchakNihilists! *uck me. I mean, say what you want about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude, at least it's an ethos.

@westernbbq. Not yet. This is the first one I've done. I'm doing most of it by hand so I wouldn't even know how much to ask.

A great talent that is certainly rapidly progressing (yes, I have seen your earlier threads) and so far above my skill-set that I will just appreciate your work.
    Nailed it-Congrats.

Nice!  I am about to start a project converting a couple western handled gyutos to wa handles. I just ordered the wood.
