Inspired by the favorite burger thread, I made some beer can burgers. All had garlic and onion added to the dish. Some had jalapeños. 4 year aged cheddar added to most. Goat cheese added to some. A bacon outer ring finished off the creation.
While I was making the burgers I quickly threw together some abts. Egg got too hot while unattended. They still tasted good. Bacon dried out as breakfast sausage finished cooking in the peppers. I will do these again and pay more attention.
Oh my dad is headed to Kentucky on a mission trip so that is why this happened so early.
Wife didn't want the oven fighting the AC so the apple pie went on the egg for an hour after dinner.
All done indirect at 350 dome.

I don't know what beer can burgers are, but they look good! Did the bacon get crispy, or was it still chewy?
I hope you and your dad enjoyed your meal together!

Basically, form roughly 1/4 lb of ground chuck around something cylindrical (beer can) and fill it with stuff. Mushrooms, peppers, onions, olives, jalepenos, etc. and later in the cook - cheese.
No, the bacon was not crispy. I bought our butcher's home made bacon, an extremely thick cut. Next time i would get some very thin sliced bacon.
We did enjoy the meal, thanks!

Thanks for the info! But I have another question (can ya tell I'm new?!).
Since you've filled the little cavity, I guess you don't flip them? Because then everything would fall out, right? -
