Nathan's beef dogs on grilled buttery split top buns, topped with pulled pork and a creamy wasabi cole slaw. The pork was sauced with mustard based bbq sauce. Dash of hot sauce on top. =P~

Thx fellas! @Boileregger , I just kinda threw it together. It had mayo, white wine vinegar, salt, pepper, sugar, celery seed, crushed red pepper and a tiny bit of wasabi. A little goes a long way. The wasabi gave it an awesome kick.

Thx guys! @Chubbs, the split top buns are really, really good. @jfm0830 introduced them to me awhile back. He sent me some from the New England area. I just recently found them in Food Lion down here in SC. If you place some butter in a pan, just grill them on both sides like you would a grilled cheese sandwich.... Then build your hot dog. Your hot dogs will taste like they have a grilled cheese sandwich wrapped around them. They are daaaang good. These were the Pepperidge Farm brand.

Nicely done indeed Dyal!! I recently found out more about those buns because there was an anniversary of their creation. The Howard Johnson's restaurant chain (Braintree, MA) contracted with J.J Nissen's Bakery in Maine to make those rolls for the Howard Johnson's lobster roll. They began serving hotdogs on them too and things took off from there. Living around here, for me those were hot dog rolls. I really didn't see much of the other type until I traveled out of my part of New England. As Dyal mentioned it is great being able to throw some butter on and toast them up. On my LBGE I often put in a half moon cast iron grill griddle and toast up the buns while I'm doing the dogs. For those of you who are interested in the rolls and can't get them locally, check out the King Arthur Flour website. In their company store they have a New England style hot dog roll pan and several recipes for the rolls. The consistency isn't quite as airy on the ones you do yourself, but the homemade varieties are certainly more tasty.Jim
