Above selections are good. I would add a Woo to the platesetter, a thermopop or pen, and a dual probe thermometer for low and slow cooks. Sorry just noticed that you already have the Maverick. You're good there.XL BGE, LG BGE, and a hunger to grill everything in sight!!!Joe- Strongsville, OH

@tarheelmatt i know there is a huge debate over the ci grate about if they are worth the money or not.
Personally i love mine for the sear marks it gives the meat. Yeah they are like 50 bones but what is another 50 bucks when the darn egg was over 1000.00?
Heck even plain old hot dogs taste better to me using the ci grate.1 XXL BGE, 1 LG BGE, 2 MED. BGE, 1 MINI BGE, 1 Peoria custom cooker Meat Monster.Clinton, Iowa -

I was thinking about a cast iron grate a few months ago and decided, instead, to get the CGW Swing Rack. I get nice fat sear marks with that.Large (sometimes wish it were an XL) in KS

My recommendations are:
CI Grate
PSWOO2-CI
DigiQ BBQ Guru controller
Pit Mitts
Smokeware SS cap
Pizza Stone
Large BGE in a Sole' Gourmet Table
Using the Black Cast Iron grill, Plate Setter,
and a BBQ Guru temp controller.
Medium BGE in custom modified off-road nest.
Black Cast Iron grill, Plate Setter, and a Party-Q temp controller.
Location: somewhere West of the Mason-Dixon Line -

There is only one tool I use on every cook: The third hand grid lifterI'd also suggest a thermapen if you don't have an accurate fast read thermometer.I also like a spider with a CI grid for searing, but it sounds like you are happy with swing rack.I'm thinking about a Party Q as my next toy.Cooking on an XL and Medium in Bethesda, MD.

I always wanted one. mehpeople seem to like the maverick. i rarely use mineDigiQ. works great if you do a lot of overnight cooks. i just don't use it often enough to justify the $$I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

@tarheelmatt yep that's what I said...lol pulled pork is the correct way. If I wanted to cut it I'd just do a loin.

I always pull pork a bit... THEN I chop it.
I used my CI grid for every single cook for most of the 5 years I've owned my large. I actually have three of them (warranty replacements), but I would have been just as happy with a stock grid.I hate it when I go to the kitchen for food and all I find are ingredients!

It is just called BBQ in my neck of the woods. I just like to raz the yankees. My wife is from Ohio, so when I cook BBQ, every time they call it "pulled pork", I correct them. My mother-in-law asks me "do you have any of the yankee sauce"? Lol.. That is just some thick Sweet Baby Rays or something. She doesn't care for the dip I make.------------------------------
