I had been told by several people including my local dealer that it likely wouldn't be covered but BGE customer service came through. Here is the thread in case you want to know the whole story. I had just gotten back to work today from filing a claim with my local dealer and got this reply:
Hello John,
Thank you for the email and I am terribly sorry that you have had this accident with your EGG. With the info you have provided, I am approving your large dome for warranty. If you will please show this email approval and your pictures to your local EGG dealer, they should be able to bring in a replacement dome on an incoming EGG order from their distributor. If there are any questions concerning this warranty I can be reached via this email or by phone
Thanks and Happy Egging!!!

@Crimsongator I don't remember many posts in the past about poor customer service. OP glad they took care of it for you. I took my mini apart Friday to discover the base and fire box cracked. 3rd base in 6 years.

I guessed they would cover it. I've had good luck dealing directly as well. Not so much luck with the dealer though. It's not like it was a new egg that was improperly assembled. That's why they cost so dang much- lifetime warranty!NW IOWA

That's way cool, makes me feel even better about shelling out the $$ for the new Egg a couple of weeks ago. Glad to see your success, that's customer service for you.LBGE - I like the hot stuff. The big dry San Joaquin Valley, Clovis, CA

I have personally spoke with Bruce and he is a rock solid guy. They will support the warranty for real issues. We just need to be certain that people don't try to "scam" warranty claims for things that are NOT the companies fault.

The band is a BGE issue. They say you can sear at 700 but try it and hold your egg at 700 for 30 minutes then open it and your dome will come right out of the band. Doesn't matter how tight you tighten your bands they will loosen.
