First Tandoori

Decided to give tandoori chicken a whirl tonight cause I haven't had it on the egg yet.It was damn tasty too!!!

I used some mesquite wood to just because I saw Dave Matthews used it on his and he knows Tandoori from what i've read:)

A few pics which don't do justice to the awesome flavor!!!

Fantastic.  What spice mix did you use? It looks top secret :)

Thanks, the flavor was unreal.I used a  tandoori blend that I get from a small shop in montreal called epice de cru they have awesome spices very fresh.

I mixed in a little kaddie chili pepper for the red color  and is a good substitute for the kashmiri pepper that's harder to get plus its mild so the family will eat it:)

Need to do a clean out tomorrow tho because I had a hard time maintaining 500 deg throughout the cook? Must be a airflow issue seeing i havent cleaned my egg out in about two months now!!

  • The Kashmiri chili powder is mild too but it has an awful aftertaste IMHO. I'll look for Kaddi.
