I told myself that I'd wait till it was done, but I'm a little kid and wanted to share some of the progress with my egghead family! :D

I've been a egghead for 6 weeks and I guess you can say i'm thoroughly invested! B-)

OK, that is gorgeous. Very nice!!! Beats the hell out of those blocks!!! ;)
Questions: concerned about airflow with the back closed? Is the front open? What are you hiding there? LOL
    What type of wood?

Looks good. Assuming storage in the back? I would freak out the first time it rained on that thing. That's a rather large workshop too.... Is Bob Villa building it for you??

The front will be open for air flow but you'll have to patiently wait to see the rest. LOL

Top and egg base is red wood.  Everything else is cedar.

Thanks for gawking by today!! :)

As a fellow egghead and woodworker, I am jealous of that shop! My shop is crammed in my garage. I love the glued up top. I was lazy and made my table out of pressure treated and used concrete for he top. I didn't want the maintenance. Also, the wife wanted me to finish the cabinet doors for our bar and I wanted my table to be done. Maybe someday I'll upgrade to a fancier table. I'm thinking white oak, but I never gave redwood a thought.

Looks nice... I wish I had room for a proper workshop and didn't have so much crap in my garage...

For the record, I'm not a woodworker and that is not my shop.  I'm a geek and couldn't be further from being a manly man that's capable enough to make this table.

This guy came Highly recommended from a antique restorer I worked with a few years ago.

...I was gonna say, that's a professional shop!  I see very expensive something in the background, maybe a window frame or something?

Cazzy that looks amazing!  Hoping to do mine out of red cedar when I move.  (mine is currently just sitting on a concrete block on the back deck, it's a very sad sight)

    Possibly...after it's completed.

Daryn (the wood genius) is wanting to get into the egg community.  He is very geeked about the project so he's been thinking outside of the box and tweaking things as he's gone.  Upon completion, I will provide his contact information.  I want him to focus on my baby, otherwise i'd give it now.  Yes, im being selfish!! :D

That's beautiful, but I have to ask again, how are you removing the ash?

@Doc_Eggerton you are looking at the back of the table. The front will have drawers and there will be a opening at the bottom half of each egg.

We can't see the front.  What I am really curious about is a lot of beautiful tables have no place to bring a bucket under the bottom vent, the Egg sits on a shelf.  I always wonder how they clean the ash.

Your table is gorgeous.  I used to own a cabinet shop, and I never did anything prettier.
