I see....I always extended the foil from the plate setter below as a deflector and an air gap. I would think your way, the meat would be just as hot as the foil being in direct contact. Shrug.1 · -

I love the mini, and if you don't have help moving stuff definitely get the mini. I have mine in the nest and it is still pretty dang heavy and awkward I think.1 ·
