The issue was not how often OP cleaned ash out of the egg but the notion that an accumulation of ash was the normal/accepted solution to the wobble. As others have said, that's just BS.1 · -

Actually, I do not use the 3-2-1 method. I just put dry rub on the ribs and cook them indirect in the 225-250* range 4-5 hours. Once the lid goes down I don't do a thing until they are ready.1 ·
