Raised grate

I remember not too long ago seeing a post on making a raised grate, but can't seem to find it now. I have the grate that came with my large that I want to use as a raised grate to sit on top of my CI grate. Any suggestions on what to use for the legs??

If you are talking about a second grate, you need a second grate (obvious) and Fender Washers and Carriage bolts.
If you are talking about raising the grid when you cook, I personally use a 2" fire ring on top of the original fire ring I got from my dealer.Visit my blog, dedicated to my Big Green Egg Recipies at http://www.bigtsbge.blogspot.com You can also follow my posts on FaceBook under the name Keep On Eggin' or the link http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Keep-On-Eggin/198049930216241 -
you can't get much simpler than two fire bricks resting on their edge and then an auxiliary grate laying on top!

I made one with the bolts....waste of time.Use the firebricks or empty soda/beer cans or foil ballz.Lot easier and you don't have the bolts in the way if you wanna use the grate by itself.JMO.

You have to buy an extra set of nuts and some large flat washers, easy, peasy -
That's purdy Frank compared to my simple set up, which BTW knocks down for easy storage!

Nothing wrong with that! I'm just a gadget freak that likes to tinker with ideas.
Knocking yours down is obviously simple, but I would wind up with a smashed toe for sure! The older i get the clumsier I get
Mine all hang on hooks on a post.
I like your gasket. That has to be my next project
