Many of you know that I work with veterans, but I love, and am married to one too! He didn't have the day off but I did, so I made a nice dinner for him.
I started my day in the hot tub! This is my view:

I started dinner with grilled romaine with apple/orange vinaigrette with Brie and apples

I got this pretty new wine stopper in Montreal a few weeks ago

I bought some garlic bread at local bakery - see the garlic chunks

I did blackened green beans, twice baked potatoes and filet

I finished with homemade crepes filled with nutella, bananas and strawberries, topped with whip cream

And last but not least, my veteran and my pup!

Teresa, thanks. As you can see, Tucker is no worse for wear!! He gets snacks all the time! Our rule though, is that he gets it all AFTER dinner - it saves a bit on the volume of slobber!!

Julia, this was a beautiful post, starting with the bucolic farm in fall and ending with dessert. What a wonderful dinner for your veteran, David.

Can you tell me how you made the 'blackened' green beans. They look delicious.
I make crepes frequently, but never thought of finishing them off on the egg. You used some of my favorite fillings!
