Since returning from Eggfest in October , I have used the egg with my husbands supervision a few times. Tonight, as a surprise to him, I am cooking dinner on the Egg all by myself. It is just chicken breasts with Dizzy dust rubbed on them, but i am doing it alone. My husband (BBQBluesStringer) is going to be shocked and I hope very pleased. Thanks all at EggFest for giving me the encouragement to go for it. Ya know what? Its fun![p]

  • Carpe Ovum,
Did he give you permission to use his egg? Now, I'm just joking.
Make sure you get all your own personalized tools, your own supply of rubs because sharing becomes a problem. Eveyone in this household forgets who has what. Before you know it, it is crunch time with company and no rubs.
I wasn't at Eggfest but have fun and good luck.[p]CWM

Carpe Ovum,[p]Congrats!! I can say one of my proudest days was when I came home, got out of the car, and smelled the joy and promise that is the lit Big Green Egg. [p]One thing that you might find he really likes is to have him come home and find you lighting the egg with a MAPP torch. Nothing's hotter than a chick with a blow torch cooking me dinner!![p]Seriously, you are about to enter a realm you never thought of before October. My wife goes out of her way to find things to cook on the egg and she loves cooking on it by herself. As in absolutely no interference from me. [p]We are now his and hers hobby cookers with a large, a mini, a chiminea and a small on the way. Our lives are forever changed.[p]Don't forget to let us know how the chicken turned out...

Carpe Ovum,[p]"Sieze the Egg"? (I love it!)[p]Congratulations! BBQBluesStringer will be happy to smell the chicken and have the food ready when he gets home. It's hard to beat chicken with Dizzy dust.[p]BOB
And thank You and BBQBluesStringer for giving my Mini a ride from Atlanta.

  • Carpe Ovum,
Yum! Came home to an excellent dinner! I'm real proud of my fledgling egger for hopping out of the nest on her own. She did a great job, so much so that I'm eyeing retirement. ;-)

  • Carpe Ovum,[p]Welcome to the Collective. Complete assimilation will happen in a matter of days. Resistance is futile. (grin)[p]Congrats and welcome![p]GrillMeister
