This seems to be a chronic problem here, as in
http://www.eggheadforum.com/index.php?option=com_simpleboard&Itemid=55&func=view&catid=6&id=900554

I forgot my password and was assigned a new one which I then tried to change to one I could remember, but as others have, I got a message that this handle was already taken and I needed to choose another one. None of the threads I found on this topic give a work-around. How can I make this change? Thanks!

    In these cases, we modify the duplicate handles based upon the registration date.
    We have three "riverrat" registrations. Yours was the third one; so, I appended a "3" to your handle.

    You may now change your password as desired.

    You may also change you handle if you wish, but not to another one in use.
